Images of America: Alexandria Police Department

The Alexandria Police Association, as authorized by the City of Alexandria Police Department, created a photo history of the city police department in a book titled: Images of America: Alexandria Police Department, compiled by Amy Bertsch for the Alexandria Police Association and published November 6, 2006 by Arcadia Publishing which specializes in local history titles, including histories of public safety agencies.

Images of America: Alexandria Police Department is a soft cover book with 128 pages containing more than 200 black and white photos. These historical images feature officers, cruisers, motor units, crime scenes, crashes, and old facilities, such as the old 400 North Pitt Street police headquarters.

The Alexandria Police Association is selling the book at the Alexandria Police Department (Property Unit), 3600 Wheeler Ave, Alexandria, VA 22304. Price: $13.00 for Alexandria Police Association members and retired Alexandria Police Personnel, $15.00 for all others.

You must pick the book up at the Alexandria Police Headquarters (3600 Wheeler Ave, Alexandria, VA 22304) between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, except for City holidays.
